Mr. John I. Jones Jr.

COCHRAN, GA – John I. Jones Jr., 79, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2018 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held in Lanett at a later date.

A native of Auburn, Mr. Jones had lived in Cochran, Georgia since 1969. He was the son of the late John Iven, Sr. and Lannie Jones, He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert A. Jones and James A. Jones. He was a 1957 graduate of Lanett High School, a 1962 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in accounting and later earned a master’s degree in accounting from Georgia College in Milledgeville. John was retired, after 25 years, as Vice President of Fiscal Affairs at Middle Georgia College. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and former member of the Cochran Rotary Club.

Survivors are his wife, Jackie M. Jones of Cochran; his daughter, Kelly A. Jones of Cochran; cousins including, Jackie J. Cooper of Opelika; several nieces and nephews.
