West Point rodeo planned for Oct. 18 and 19, proceeds to support all Troup County first responders

WEST POINT — The public is invited to the first annual First Responder’s Crisis Fund Rodeo Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19.

The event will be held in West Point at 418 2nd Ave., at 8 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

The First Responders Crisis Fund, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was recently created with the help of Oubre Rodeo Company.

As the wife of one of the LaGrange Fire Department’s firefighters, Jamie Oubre has stepped in helping her father-in-law and owner of Oubre Rodeo Company to spread the word about their mission.

“The crisis fund was founded on the idea of becoming a trusted source of resources and assistance dedicated to every first responder in Troup County,” said Jamie Oubre, whose husband is a firefighter for LaGrange Fire Department.”

All proceeds raised from the First Responders Crisis Fund will help all Troup County first responders in their time of need.
